Get Your Shuck On: Join the Fun with Biloxi's Baseball Team and Local Delicacies!

Are you ready for some good ol' fashioned fun in the sun on the Gulf Coast? Then look no further than the Biloxi Shuckers baseball team! This minor league team has been entertaining locals and tourists alike since their inception in 2015.

The Shuckers are named after the popular Gulf Coast seafood delicacy, the oyster. But don't let the name fool you, these players are serious about the game. They're a Double-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers and have had some notable players come through their ranks, including current MLB stars Keston Hiura and Corbin Burnes.

This season, the Shuckers are looking to continue their winning ways with a roster filled with promising talent. Outfielder Hedbert Perez has been turning heads with his speed and power, while infielder Devin Hairston has been a consistent presence at the plate. And let's not forget about pitcher Ethan Small, who's been dominating on the mound.

The Shuckers' opening night for the 2023 season is on April 7th, and it's sure to be a night to remember. Fans can expect a pre-game ceremony honoring the team's past accomplishments, followed by a thrilling game against the Montgomery Biscuits.

Throughout the season, the Shuckers have some exciting promotion nights planned. On May 20th, they're celebrating Margaritaville Night, where fans can enjoy live music and drink specials. And on June 17th, it's Star Wars Night, complete with character appearances and themed jerseys.

But that's not all! The Biloxi Shuckers also have a fireworks night planned for July 2nd, where fans can enjoy a spectacular fireworks show after the game against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos.

And while you're taking in all the excitement of the game and promotions, be sure to indulge in some delicious local cuisine. MGM Park offers a variety of tasty options, including the seafood gumbo, a Gulf Coast staple, and the po' boy sandwich, which comes in a variety of flavors such as shrimp, oyster, and catfish. And if you're feeling adventurous, give the crawfish mac and cheese a try!

Now, let's talk about the cost of attending a game. Ticket prices range from $10 for general admission to $20 for box seats. And if you're feeling hungry, there are plenty of snacks available at the concession stands. Hot dogs start at $4, while a bucket of popcorn will set you back $6.

So, what are you waiting for? Grab your family and friends and head down to MGM Park to catch a Shuckers game. It's the perfect way to spend a summer day, whether you're a die-hard baseball fan or just looking for a fun time. See you at the ballpark!
